I cheated and not only did another haiku but the same last line as my last one. LOL. If I have time I may write another.
ReplyDeletecool breezes change to
high winds, tornadoes, toss trees
spring in Tennessee
i thought that was cool how you used the same last line. and i was going to cheat and do a short one as well... how cool is that? ll
DeleteYea, Victoria, that was quite "cool" to use the same last line in your Haiku!! I love it!!
Deletehe sits in the oval office
ReplyDeletetells us he is so cool
he has a pen and phone
and acts like a fool
Now let me guess who you're talking about...cool little poem!!!
DeleteWhat is cool to me
ReplyDeletethe music in my car is cool
you might not think so
but I do
I have a CD changer
it holds 6 CDs
not all of them are classical
they all please me
I think going to the strip club
with my grand daughter is cool
all the strippers know me
they call me Rosa Lee
Sometimes I get to go onstage
and dance around the pole
It makes me feel so sexy
I think it's really cool
I think going to school at 69
is really very cool
my grand children are proud of me
for keeping my mind young
Now I've sung my glories
of how cool I really am
I think I'll quit while I'm ahead
and feeling cool by damn!
ha ha ha... so you think you're one cool cat :-)
Deletewell, it was supposed to be a cool poem and I decided that I should write about me lmbo hahahahahahahaha
DeleteI went for a different kind of cool, haha.
ReplyDeleteYour breath,
Cool on my neck.
It's been a while.
Arms entwined
Familiar but new.
Writing a poem,
Your cool breath,
Whisking me towards
Sleep
Infection bites my back
Screaming "medicine!"
A hasty reminder--
I must get up love.
Reptile in the corner,
Relic of a relation past-
Beckons.
Crickets feet,
As I lay down to sleep.
Buzz cut bristles,
Softly under my hand
Dog tags cool against my face.
You take a special kind.
But I know your type--
Who think so lowly
That sacrifice is your best bet.
Your insecurities flow,
Leg tumors and involuntary whimpers.
"Easy..."
Curling up like a puppy in my lap.
Breathing slow,
Sleep.
Quick correction: tumors is supposed to be tremors
DeleteI hope my weird spacing will come through!
ReplyDeleteThat Old Black Man
You might be cool
But you’ll never be old-black-man cool
Internet meme
Did you see this one? Old Black Man sitting,
legs apart, acoustic guitar on lap, cigarette
dipping from corner of his mouth
Cancer ain’t got me yet and anyways
I’ve seen too much to be scared of dying
flat-capped head erect
eyes looking straight at you
You might be cool, Young Blood
but have you paid your dues?
His hands – look at his hands –
fingers gnarled, shaped to the strings –
right hand plucks the tune,
left hand fingers chords
Those hand been working so long
so long
on that old guitar
That guitar plays blues
plays gospel
plays jump-up happy
plays misery
plays a life worth living
He’s seen sorrow and joy
known love and loss
he’s gotten by and he’ll keep keeping on
and in his head are more stories
than even his hands can ever sing

ReplyDeleteHeaven and Hell explained
ReplyDeleteMaybe life and time
must brew themselves in boiling brine
near some star 'splosion or volcanic vent
Melt the immobile start the drip
set off the ticking universe
for a hot, rotational trip.
But for timeless or eternal
an absolute zero temperature is best.
As any motion
would be a timeline,
cancel out eternal rest.
