  1. pretty sure most ladies on this site think they know who i'm going to write a relationship poem for......surprise!

    BUNNIES IN THE PARK

they mostly come out after dark
to nibble my carrots and have a lark.
    all animals trust me
they know i wont hurt them
even insects never give me their sting
nuts for miss tippy toes the squirrel, i bring
and get the seagulls their pie tea

still plotting how to get a soggy cow on the train
and get her back to my flat
i need the company, in the rain
though i do have my pet wharf rat.

    7. the wild woods are pretty peaceful. we had some guys out chasing a coyote the other day but, we decided that we won't let them out again because we don't want any killing going on out here on this land.

  2. the relationship between the cats and me
is oh! so very plain to see
they all know who's the boss
a fact over which we do not gloss
the alpha mom is my place
a position I fill with aplomb and grace
they allow me this as long as I understand
the cats rule - I'm just here to open the cans

    1. my hound dog knew she was the boss. the endless spinning, knocking me in to the pond and attacking from ambush when i came back from the shops proved that. oh, and the sneezing in my face to wake me up for her breakfast. spent half my life covered in hound snot - puurrrrsssss - paul.

  3. I Love Trees

    My favorite things in nature
sends their branches to the sky
and call to me with dancing joy
to seek to draw my eye.

I climbed them as a youngster
    and spent my hours there
    reading books and writing
    poems in the air.

    My dad was a horticulturist
    who cared for many trees
I love the ones around me
and hug them when I please.

  6. I had a good relationship
    with both my grandpas
and I loved them very much
    I taught my grandpa Julio
    how to read in English
he used to kiss me on my ear
    it tickled me all over
    we walked to church together
    on Sunday morning at eight
after church we went to his room
    I hung over his shoulder
while he read a cowboy book
he read out loud and I helped
    him with the hard words
my Grandpa James P. had whiskers
they felt like a brillo pad
when I kissed him on the cheek
    but I didn't mind
    I would have kissed
    that cactus face all day
if only I had the chance
both of them are gone now
I wish I could see them again...
