  1. WISH UPON A STAR
    a ghazal

When I grow up I want to be a movie star
Bonnie said, You may as well wish upon a star.

I will also sing and dance, learn to play guitar.
I told her that I’d surely wish upon a star.

Bonnie said that I was silly, sillier by far
than any other person who wished upon a star.

I’ll show you, she said, I’ll wish for a candy bar,
and then she closed her eyes and wished upon a star.

I reached inside my drawer where all my secrets are,
and gave to her my Snickers, wished for on a star.

Bonnie grinned, exclaimed, Wow, that is so bizarre,
and I went off to make my wish upon a star.

  2. WISHMAS

My first wish you can't miss is to permanently relax like being hit by great climax dripping with hot candle wax
My second wish you can't miss is to
travel the world my dream unfurled
My third wish you can't miss is to be remembered when I leave this world like burning ember I'll never surrender

  3. 3 Wishes

    Hello my dear fairy elf
I see you're now an elf on the shelf
three wishes you say you'll grant to me
oh dear! oh dear! what shall they be?

My first wish if I may commence
    please bring back common sense
people only see what they want to see
facts have gone on a shopping spree

Number two means a lot to me
stop all the hate let people live in unity
for myself I am happy no worries dear
    all is under control here

My third wish is on a personal note
let my friend Tad learn to use his new throat
I know these wishes you will do
to your word you have always been true

    4. no the ingred bergman kiss would do bonita. maybe a faster than light space craft would be fun....but i'd probably crash it in to the sun. technology hates me - love and letters - paul.

    6. I too kept thinking about wishes and horses,an this poem is nice. I like the idea of living in Trump tower, (or spending a little time there) but not in the company of the current residents. Quick funny story: I was in the company of a very famous writer whose books I really didn't care much for, and couln't think of anything to say. It was embarrassing. Makes me giggle to remember.

  6. Wishes Three

If I had three wishes, then here's what I'd do:
I'd keep one for me, and I'd give one to you
I'd lock up the third in a safe place indeed
or maybe I'll give it to someone in need.

Yet what will I wish? I struggle to think:
I could wish all my troubles were gone in a blink
yet new ones are likely to rise to replace
whatever I thought I might somehow erase.

I could wish for money, but when it was spent
I'd hardly remember the way that it went.
I could wish to be healthy, yet somehow I know
That that's only accomplished by me, as I grow.

Three wishes, three wishes, three wishes for me
    I'm lost in the thought of what ever might be;
it's more fun to think about wishing alas,
than choose what I wish would then come to pass
