  1. a beautiful evening
    in summer
    with a campfire
    and plenty of wood
    a red and purple sunset
    a sweet sexy kiss
    in the moonlight
    with promises of more
    to come
the smile on a baby’s face
    the touch of newborn skin
    a ghost nudge
    from a lost loved one
    a book I can’t put down
that has a sequel at the end
    a finished project
a field of herbs and flowers
    the smell of melting snow
no more dishes in my sink
    such small things that
    make me happy
    and my smiles linger on...

  4. True happiness cannot be bought or sold.
It sings its song within the heart to tell
its tale of joy and gradually unfold
a path that leads us true and makes all well.

I breathe it in and feel my heart grow warm.
    It is like music to the listening ear;
it brings a kind remembrance sweet and calm
and brightens any landscape that was drear.

I cannot make it happen, nor can I
give it to others who might need to smile
it comes with cheerful thoughts and by and by
remains with those who share their help awhile.

Such happiness is given freely to
all those who seek what's bright and clear and true.

  7. Yes, it is a Shakespearean sonnet, by the rhyme scheme. So glad you liked it, and were inspired by the prompt. Maybe happiness isn't as popular as other stuff.
