Indecision

Paul Bole just could decide which way he wanted to go with this weeks poetry prompt so as he was undecided the prompt for us is indecision. Go for it! How does indecision affect your life? or maybe a funny poem about someone who can't make a decision? serious or funny you really have to make up your mind and make a decision :-).

  1. I actually have one on this theme. But first, a true story. There's a cute popular song from the 40s called Undecided -- FIrst you say you do, and then you don't - And then you say you will, and then you won't - You're undecided now, so what are you gonna do?

The composer of the melody had a couple of great titles in mind for it, but he couldn't decide between them. So he sent it off to his publisher with "Undecided" in the line for the title. But before he could make up his mind, the publisher sent the melody to a lyricist....

  2. CHOOSING

    The redhead
    greets you under the arch
    she offers you
    a ham sandwich or
    a blow job

but you have to choose one
    the ham sandwich
    is pungent with fresh
    horseradish
    cheese home grown tomatoes

    it’s a po’ boy
    meat burgeoning out
    either side
    black olives red and green
    chili peppers

    she has pink plump cheeks
    lips moistened
    with primal complaisance
    pillow breasts if
    she’ll take her clothes off

    is that part
of the deal? She won’t say
    or whether the
    beer in her right hand
    comes with each

    1. LOL. So, did the beer come with the deal? For some reason this reminds me of an old joke. A nerd comes to work on a new bicycle. His friend asked where he got it. He said, he was walking to work when this girl on a bike stopped him. She took off her clothes and said, "You can have whatever you want."

  5. indecision. hmmmm i'm good at that.to quote the clash " should i stay, or should i go? if i go there will be trouble, if i stay, it will be double "
    anyway, on to the poem.

    ON THE TRAIN 9

ok. he is nuts and nobody is taking any notice
there is a mom and a baby next to him
am i the only person taking any notice?
if he touches that kid, i'm breaking a limb

but come, let us talk no more of the past
    but only of the future
there is work to be done reclaiming our land
don't want kids to be maimed in a bomb blast
need some justice that is mature
am i always a one man band?

talking to a politics student with pink hair dyes
sortta persuaded her to take off rose coloured glasses and open her eyes

    i give indecision advice
while my life is filled with collapse, ice and vice.

    3. Interesting take on the prompt. I think maybe the word should be "indecisive" though, but I can't decide. LOL

  7. the northern white rhino will be extinct soon, because there are only two females left. one of my enviromental poems.....the ultimate in indecision.

    JUST ONE EARTH

yeah! just exterminate all the elephants and rhino's
    why?....who knows

kill everyone who doesn't look like you
    that's what we do
different colour and religion? kill them too

    polar bears are drowning
never thought i'd mourn the lack of ice
    dodo's and tree frogs...gone twice
car pollution sets my heart a' pounding

    slow death by overpopulation
or push the button and end every nation
at least it would stop this annoying radio station

the answer to all the worlds problems, is just stop doing it and behave yourselves
but there is a better chance of meeting elves.

    - thanks guys - love paul.

  9. Will I or Won't I?

My time fills up with things to do
    yet not what I intend.
It's difficult to see my way
    around the next day's bend.
    So I live with serendipity
    it has become my song,
my life just seems to flow that way
    as it carries me along.

I've no complaints, please hear me
    I'm happy every day
    as in the present moment
I try my best to stay
    it is my inner compass
that keeps me in the flow.
    and gives me my instructions
that tell me where to go.

    The difficulty I endure
comes when my wish might be
to cross an item off my list
or have some time that's free,
and what is flowing then will not
    accede to my desire
    occasioning some conflict which
    could even end in ire.

The issue of my simple plight
    is this, I do believe:
deciding which it is that I
need do and which can leave
and do another time, or not:
    there my conundrum lies;
if you can tell me what to do
    you'll win a special prize.

Betwixt, between, what shall I do?
    Most often I don't know
and so I seek the squeaky wheel
to show the way to go.
The louder it will shriek and groan
    the faster I will move
thus my decision comes to me
and I stay in the groove.

  11. Another kid poem:

I stole my sister Bonnie's snack,
ate it all, won't give it back,
so mom said in her old, mean voice
that I would have to make a choice.

No tv for one full week
or else no snacks. I want to shriek
but mom would just get much more mad
and I would get so much more sad.

    No Daniel Tiger, PJ Masks,
and I still have to do my tasks.
Or else no cookies that mom makes,
no ice cream cones or chocolate cake.

    I want them both, I can't decide,
just want to go to bed and hide.
I wish that I could give it back,
I didn't mean to take her snack.

But mom puts cookies in to bake
and I know which one I will take.
The cookies smell so good to me.
    I can live without tv.

  12. Hey guys...sorry about my absence. My computer is acting up. Here is a poem for the Indecision.

    Spring brings sunshine
    or so I thought
    last night it brought snow
    and tomorrow rain
    the indecision of Spring
    is a real drain on
    my sensitive emotions
