This the first thing that came to mind. It's a song lyric, but it does have contrasts in life. I did make a demo of the song with Larry Hoppen of Orleans -- you can hear it here.
CHEATIN' AND HEARTACHE
Cheatin' and Heartache, partners in crime Know just what they're doin', and they'll do it every time Cheatin took you dancin' on the other side of town Told you you were sexy and you shouldn't be tied down Showed you a cowboy who had lovin' in his eyes But it was only Cheatin' in a fancy disguise
Cheatin' and Heartache, partners in crime Know just what they're after and they'll get it every time When you told that cowboy that, yes, you were free Cheatin' had you and Heartache had me
Heartache came and found me all alone in our bed Put hollow in my heart and poundin' in my head Told me that your cowboy could make love all night long And that I wasn't man enough to keep you comin' home That's when my eyes filled up with tears and that's when I could see Cheatin' had you and Heartache had me
Cheatin' and Heartache, partners in crime Know just what they're after and they'll get it every time When I was home alone and you were out on a spree Cheatin' had you and Heartache had me
They stole my self-respect but I got over it in time I sold that house and moved away, left Heartache behind Last week my new wife and me came back through town together Saw your cowboy with a girl wearin' jeans made out of leather Asked a friend the story and he told me it was true Cheatin' had your cowboy, Heartache had you
Cheatin' and Heartache, partners in crime Know just what they're after and they'll get it every time Mess around with one you get the other one too Cheatin' had him and Heartache had you Cheatin' had him and Heartache had you Cheatin' had him and Heartache had you
night and day life and death black and white woman and man night turns into day life ends up with death but in between black and white we wonderously watch a rainbow appear woman and man willfully blend and make life happen so, what I see is this, contrasting things can blend and become one the light brightly turns to night as reality happens
Apples are tart oranges are sweet both are fruits and that's where they meet. Both have fiber choose which you wish, neither is good to have with fish. Lemons will do, even though they're tart life can be confusing gotta make a start, choosing is tricky go by the taste, that way for sure nothing goes to waste.

my gosh! that is a truly awesome song! I am impressed!
DeleteWow, that's all I can say. Johnny Cash would have made that one a hit.
DeleteAwesome song. I'll have to go check out the link when I'm not in public. I really want to hear it sung.

Well said, good job.
DeleteI like this one. I didn't mean to read before I wrote mine but I am blanking on this one.
DeleteNice going, keeping up several contrasts and then bringing them together.

gotta make a start,

i like it!! it has great cadence and was fun to read!
DeleteMmmmmm, fresh fruit, my favorite. Cute poem, nicely done. Meter and rhyme are spot on.
DeleteI love the jumps that this one makes. Funny and trenchant,
